Child Care Data Community

Virginia Child Care Resource & Referral Network(VACCRRN)

Virginia Child Care Resource and Referral Network is a community-based network of early care and education specialists whose purpose is to deliver services to families, child care professionals and communities to increase the accessibility, availability, and quality of child care in Virginia.

Virginia Early Childhood Foundation (VECF)

The Virginia Early Childhood Foundation is a public-private partnership, founded in 2005. Their mission is to provide leadership to foster Smart Beginnings for all young children in Virginia and through them a vital future for the Commonwealth.

The Foundation provides grants, training and technical assistance to local and regional Smart Beginnings initiatives. They also collaborate with state government, the business community, parents and early childhood leaders to implement long-term strategies for improving school-readiness for all young children, ages birth-5.

Child Development Resources (CDR)

Child Development Resources was founded in 1966 by volunteers as the Williamsburg Preschool for Special Children. In 1977, in response to legislation guaranteeing a free and appropriate public education for Virginia's children with disabilities age 2 and older, the preschool began serving infants and toddlers. The agency's mission was expanded to include training for professionals.

In 1978, the preschool won its first federal training grant - to replicate its family-centered model of services. The agency changed its name to Child Development Resources to reflect its newly defined purpose.

In 1995, with help from a challenge grant from The Kresge Foundation and a caring community, CDR moved to a new, specially designed facility in Norge, VA.

In 2000, a building just across the street from the Norge facility is purchased to help accommodate the seven new programs and 28 new staff that have been added since 1995
